As you read this, Mark and I will be at Copper Valley Mine in Ste Genevieve, seeing what treasures we can excavate from the tailings piles (the mine itself closed decades ago, but they have very recently begun to allow limited access for people to go look for fossils, mineral specimens (including calcite and malachite), and other surface finds there).
