“The Priestess teaches us that when we feather our own nests with all that is in alignment with our heart, our bliss and our joy, the life that emerges gives rise to our medicine.”
–C. Ara Campbell, The Goddess Circle

How are you “feathering your nest” lately? At this time of year, my thoughts turn to the upcoming new year and what shape I want it to take. Mark and I have been talking over how we will thrive next year while also nurturing our own magic—as a family, a couple, a business, and as individuals. Sometimes it feels like too big of a task to nourish all of these areas, but I think we are up for the challenge! Magic, our new word of the year, is our touchstone—we will be nourishing, nurturing, celebrating, and cultivating our magic in each of these four areas this year, it will be our focus, our intent, our affirmation, and our purpose.
I opened the day’s quote in my Meditations for Women Who Do Too Much book and saw this:
“I am involved in so many things—both purely practical and also where my feelings, my life itself are concerned—possibly also by my own fault or perhaps quite by chance, that it is going to take all my strength to get through them or over them.”
–Isak Dinesen
I do have this sensation sometimes—that I have filled my own life up all the way to overflowing and it takes constant vigilance and boundary-setting (even with my own self and my own beloved business!) to take good care of myself and my own needs. So, I’m also reminded of this quote:
“An awakening woman is in a glowing and embodied, nothing held back love affair with the great mystery. She moves in the world with fierce compassion, grace and freedom, and is passionate about truth, rest and real love.”
–Chameli Ardagh, Awakening Women
Okay, on to our cards of the week! From Womanrunes, we received The Seed, rune of pregnancy, ripening, assessment. The Seed reminds us that beautiful things take root in the darkness. This is a rune of deepest wishes and it indicates that something new is taking shape. Are you listening to the call of your seed dreams? How are you putting down roots and sending up shoots?
It is time to lie on the earth. To soak up the sun (or the snowflakes!) and to be cleansed by the rain. What are you growing in the deepness of this season?
Our card from the Goddess Oracle deck was Brigit. She asks us to be clear about our intentions and to shine brightly with our purpose and dedication. “Now is the time to touch your power, for its heat and flame will ignite your passion, which will propel you forward in countless ways. Even in the face of fear, you can still stand up for your ideals and your truth.”
Where might you need to stand up for what you believe is right?
Affirmation for the week: I am purposeful and principled in my action. I take time to nourish my dreams and plant the seeds of my heart’s desires.
“May you dwell ever with the goddess
May the goddess dwell ever with you
May the dream seeds you have planted
Take root, and flower, and come true…”
(Shekhinah Mountainwater)
Blessings to you all for a nourishing week to come!
