Gratitude and Abundance: First Fruits Ritual

I touch the earth and offer gratitude for this land I call home.
I reach towards the sky and offer gratitude for sun and stars.20287004_1947588518786694_1183361675887766842_o
I place my hand on my heart and breathe deep, offering gratitude
for all that I am and all that I have
and for the many blessings of my life…

As we reach the celebration of First Fruits, Lammas, on August 1 (or August 7), it is a beautiful time to reflect on the abundance in your life, the bounty around you, and that which you are harvesting or savoring.

“Eating the first corn, cutting the first ripe tomato, grilling fresh fish in the open air: if done consciously, these can become rituals of love and thanksgiving to the earth that sustains us.”

–Patricia Monaghan, The Goddess Companion

What is sustaining you lately?

We are grateful for the community of people at Brigid’s Grove. Thank you for being a part of this Circle!

This month we have several FREE gifts to offer to you:

We also have a “web of creativity” ritual recording available from our weekly mini ritual in the Facebook Circle and it is available here.

I’m also pleased to announce that we are accepting enrollments in the revised and dramatically expanded Practical Priestessing course (it now includes a bonus, optional live ritual, retreat, and initiation ceremony near my home in Missouri at the close of the course!). The Red Tent Initiation program is now available on a rolling enrollment, self-study basis.

Lammas Goodies in Our Etsy Shop:

We had only been planning to do four seasons (+ Samhain) in terms of the themed goddesses, so that’s why the release on these is a little “late.” I love how they turned out though and I appreciate the encouragement to make a full Wheel of the Year complement instead of just the four seasons.

The last Summer Altar Kits are on sale now too!

My heart overflows with abundance
and gratitude.
I know the magic
of golden kernel
plump berry
rich ground.
The symphony of wheat and corn
And what it feels like to dance sunlight into wine…
