“We’re volcanoes.
When we women offer our experience
as our truth,
as human truth,
all the maps change.
New mountains form.”
This mini ritual is offered as a free benefit to the Creative Spirit Circle. You may wish to place one hand on your heart, one hand on your belly and hum gently to center yourself in this time and in space. Call yourself in, feeling yourself present in your body, on this earth, breathing in and out, in and out.
The audio recording for our ritual this week is available here. The theme of the recording and our cards for this week is Pele and the fires of creation, destruction, rage, and renewal. 🌋
(If you imagine you might hear someone yelling “I have to go pee!” in the background of the closing meditation, you are not actually imagining it…)
From multiple goddess decks I intentionally chose all the Pele cards, since we just recently introduced our Pele Story Goddess and she has been on my mind. The Goddess Inspiration Oracle focuses on her divine rage aspect and the capacity to destroy, particularly if one’s creative urges are sublimated or restricted. Do you feel “allowed” to be angry? Do you have an outlet for your rage? (As I type this I feel the feeling that many women are not permitted “rage” or even to use/apply that word to themselves.)
In the Goddess Guidance Oracle deck, Pele is the card of divine passion, the fires of creation and enthusiasm. “If you listen to the sound of your heart and breathe, you’ll recognize the ancient rhythms of your own internal drumming. This forever connects you to the Mother of all creation, and to the sound of planet earth. These rhythms can’t be faked or forged…” What part of you are you trying to ignore? What energy are you diverting into pleasing others rather than listening to your own rhythms? Listen to your dreams and do not be afraid of your own passions. “When you dance to the rhythms of your life, you’re truly alive in all ways.” 🔥
Then, not consciously chosen, but showing up in a divinely connected moment, from Womanrunes we received the Cauldron of Dancing Women. This rune is both a rune of containment AND of fire (and of dancing…what a neat connection to all our Peles!). The Cauldron of the Earth holds us, steeps us, allows our flavors to blend and mellow, and we are forged in its fires. There is an alchemy of creation in this rune as well as celebration, honor, and loyalty.
How are you “dancing”? Do you show up in your own life with honor? Are you keeping your promises to yourself and to others?
Affirmation for the week: I show up with honor. I embrace my passions and I burn with my fire. 🔥

And now, the rattle passes to you…
Seeing this today is apt. Since Thursday and the Kavanaugh hearings, I have been getting “anger messages” everywhere I turn. I am allowed to be angry. I need to figure out a way to be angry, to express it and feel its energy, instead of letting it dissipate or internalizing it. It’s a powerful thing and should be given respect. Much like the truth.
