Happy Summer!

Goddess
of the small and shining moments,
bless the tiny pockets in my day.
May my driving and washing and waiting
become thresholds of devotion.
May my trust
in my own capacity mature.
May I be confident
that I belong here,
in your great web of life.
Where I feel rushed,
let there be breath.
Where I feel scattered,
let there be a blessing of return.
Let these little offerings be enough.
Let them root me
in the sacred
now.

Happy Summer Solstice and Happy Juneteenth as well! Yesterday, I gathered in small circle with my friends. We invoked the shelter of the elements, sang together, laughed together, shared together, anointed one another’s heads with chamomile oil, and did an “energetic re-set” ritual for the summer season. In the photo, you’ll spot a small jar of dirt one friend brought back to us from Salem, MA, here, now, on our altars in Salem, MO. We included this in our circle as a symbol of every person who has been oppressed and suppressed in society.
