Poem: Summer Midpoint

At the midpoint of the year,
we feel life reach a peak of exuberance,
a yearning,
a reaching,
a flourishing,
a thriving,
quivering with potential and desire.
Our own seeds of promise
tended carefully through darkness
have extended roots
and sent up shoots.
We may feel fully immersed
in the blossoming.
Let us revel in our power
and relish our capacity.
Let us cultivate strong nourished roots
on which to grow
with discernment,
courage, and trust.
Let us choose well and wisely
where to reach
and when to rest.
Let us remember to tend a life
that is just the right size
to hold us too.
Let us ground ourselves deeply
in the rhythms
of the earth.
