Mini Ritual: Inner Wisdom

“[People] need real moments of solitude and self-reflection to balance out how much of ourselves we give away.”

― Barbara De Angelis

Are you giving too much of yourself away? Are you able to make space for solitude and self-reflection?

The recording for this week’s free Creative Spirit Circle mini ritual is now available. In it, I talk a bit more in depth about our cards for the week, and share some more quotes about solitude and nature.

Our card for the week from Womanrunes was The Hearth, rune of nurturance. This card can be a complex one to relate to, reminding us of the 18518363_1913228552222691_5273068231038962572_opush-pull of the ties of blood and bonds, the twin forces of separation and connection. The ways in which we can mindfully and powerfully tend our own hearths and families and the ways in which this tending can sometimes become a trap, or a “cover” for what we really want to explore.

How are you tending to your hearth lately? Is there something you need to change in your family relationships or modes of relating to others?

From the Goddess Guidance Oracle we received Athena. Athena reminds us to listen to our inner wisdom, explaining that when we take time to go within, we find that we already know what we need to do. Are you listening to your intuition lately? Is there something she is whispering to you?

In May Sarton’s memoir, Journal of a Solitude, she writes of the necessity of solitude for replenishing one’s center:

“There is no doubt that solitude is a challenge and to maintain balance within it a precarious business. But I must not forget that, for me, being with people or even with one beloved person for any length of time without solitude is even worse. I lose my center. I feel dispersed, scattered, in pieces. I must have time alone in which to mull over any encounter, and to extract its juice, its essence, to understand what has really happened to me as a consequence of it.”18403872_1910897825789097_410864787640817470_o

May you listen to yourself. May you be restored by ancient waters. May you walk in beauty and celebration. And, may you tend your hearth, and your heart, well and wisely.

Affirmation for the week: I listen to my inner wisdom.

And now, dear Circle, the rattle passes to you…

How are you tending to your hearth lately? Do you have enough solitude?
