Mini Video: Re-Setting the Grid for Ostara

A ritual of returning:
Gather red maple leaves.
Tuck a yellow rose in your pocket.
Watch deer walk between the trees.
Pick one small piece of lavender.
Find a white feather in the grass.
Collect two small buds
of wild chamomile.
Watch bees gather
on the remaining blooms.
Listen to the crows.
Draw courage
from these many resilient things.
Turn to face the storm,
your hands so full of beauty
.

I’m trying to get better this year about taking tiny videos of assorted things instead of only still photos. This video is from re-setting my wheel of the year goddess grid for Ostara. I shared it on social media (my posts there are basically shown to approximately 7 people!) and decided to make it into a blog post instead. 🙂

Note: I’ve been inspired to repurpose some of my newsletter and social media posts this year into blog posts by Seth Werkheiser, who is very big into “breaking up with social media” and making sure that your work “lives” on a platform that you own and control yourself instead of one that is at the constant whims of massive corporations whose motivation is co-optation of your time and attention and making as much money as they can from that. I got my start online with blogging–I’ve been an OG blogger since 2006 or 2007–but then as social media became more and more ubiquitous AND diffuse, I let go of most of blogging and ended up “feeding the machine,” much more than I prefer.
