Giving and Recieving

“Yet in the cycle of the year, spring always follows winter. In the same way, new openings appear when the heart’s needed rest is over. Accept your own inner seasons; they are as natural as those of the world around us.”

–Patricia Monaghan, The Goddess Companion

I was touched this week by an article about busy-ness.

…Put your hand on my arm, look me in the eye, and connect with me for one second. Tell me something about your heart, and awaken my heart. Help me remember that I too am a full and complete human being, a human being who also craves a human touch.

Today, I ask you to take a moment to drop in and feel how your heart feels today. How is your heart?

I drew two cards for the Creative Spirit Circle in a simple ceremony after a long day of course edits for our upcoming Practical Priestessing course. 17192553_1878717145673832_5102749218770631206_oFrom Womanrunes, we received the Cauldron of Reflection. I love all Cauldron runes! They make me smile, they offer me cosmic winks and nudges, and they always make me reflect. When you draw this rune, you already know what it is that you need, what your soul is craving, and what you are asking yourself for over and over again. What is that?

From the Goddess Guidance Oracle deck, we received Sedna. This is a card of “infinite supply” and reminds you that you are supplied for today and all of your tomorrows. It also reminds us of balance between giving and receiving…if you only give, you feel drained and resentful. If you only receive, it is hard to appreciate or enjoy what you have. Balance comes in both fearlessly giving and receiving with joy and gratitude. It is like breathing—inhale and exhaling are of identical importance. What is your balance like with giving and receiving lately?

Affirmation for the week: I know what I need and I fearlessly and joyfully balance giving and receiving.

And now, the rattle passes to you…

What is your balance like with giving and receiving lately? What do you need that you already know?
